While most travel is not possible due to closed borders or personal risk tolerance considerations, I have had the good fortune of being able to come to the “old country “ to get Max set up at the University of Auckland. Now that he has settled into residence, I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to embark on something of a personal ‘pilgrimage’ to walk some of the Te Araroa trail. While I have neither the time or inclination to do the entire 3,000km in one shot, I will start at the top and see how far I get!
