Via de la plata 2024

It’s time for the annual refresher on how to use WordPress. So far it’s only taken 20 minutes to insert an image of the route, and to do that I had to resort to taking a photo of the Google map, emailing it to myself, editing it in photos, then uploading it into WordPress. I’m sure there is an easier way, but with mere hours until my flight, time for learning is not on my side.

The via de la plata technically starts in Merida and ends in Astorga on the Camino Frances route, and the section from Seville – where I plan to start – to Merida is the via Augusta. so for this first section it’s really a continuation of last year’s walk from Cadiz. The plan is to divert onto the Camino Sanabres in Granja de Moreuela, which is about 615km from Seville. Susan will be joining me in Zamora in time for this year’s wedding anniversary, and completing the last 400-odd km with me.
