Pourrières to Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume 20 km by bus, Saint-Maximin to Bras 9.9 km
My Airbnb had a 1100 check out time, so I slept and dozed as long as possible. Being a Sunday morning, there were no Ubers within my budget parameters, but there was a bus! I had some time to kill, but the bus delivered me to the next major town, and from there it was about 9 km to the village where I’d booked my next Airbnb. The two hours of walking didn’t feel too bad, but I think I’ll repeat the bus/walk routine until I feel that my body has regained some strength. Now that the continuous camino trail has been broken, there’s no point in pushing too hard. If it wasn’t for the fact that I booked all my Airbnbs ahead, I would probably reconfigure my itinerary. However, in a week with two French national holidays (May 1 Labour Day, May 8 Victory Day), I didn’t want to end up camping in the forest. It also seems that Airbnb’s cancellation policy (or that of the hosts, I guess) is much stricter.
Time to try ingesting some solid food. The liquid diet only gets you so far!
