Tokyo diversion

After battling the tourist hordes in Kyoto, we had three days battling the regular hordes in Tokyo

Ameyoko market
Omoide Yokocho lane near Shinjuku station. The lane is packed with tiny food establishments, often with only a few seats.
This crossing is adjacent to the famous Shibuya Crossing. Susan, Sam and Max are there somewhere – a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ moment

Expected behavioural norms
Part of the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo. A huge green space, the likes of which didn’t really exist in the other Japanese cities we visited on our walk
Ramen time. Order from the kiosk to the left, then take a seat! It turned cold, so we all bought and are wearing an extra layer of clothing from Japanese “Lifewear” clothing giant, Uniqlo
